The Evanston Minority Business Consortium has agreed to work with the Evanston Friends of  the Library. At the Fair Share Rally on Saturday, October 9th beginning at 3:00PM we will discuss how to make the City Council accept two matters:
1) the need to share the money from the HUD grant with Evanston-based, women-owned and minority-owned businesses;
2) the need to support branches of the Evanston Library on Central Street and the South Branch and the need to open one on the West Side.
The goal is to raise awareness, recruit others to the cause, and generate support for a protest in which we will seek that at least 60% of the subcontracts to go to M/W/EBE businesses.
